Where is the DIA Economy lot?
The DIA Economy parking lot is located at Pena Station, approximately 2 miles southwest of the main Jeppesen Terminal. You get there via the A Line commuter rail, which departs from Pena Station directly to the terminal every 15 minutes. The train ride takes about 5 minutes. The Economy lot is an open-air surface lot — no covered protection from weather.
DIA Economy lot vs off-airport parking — which is better?
For most travelers, off-airport lots beat the DIA Economy lot on every metric:
- Price — off-airport lots are $3–$4/day cheaper than the Economy lot ($9 vs $13/day).
- Shuttle — both require a ride to the terminal; off-airport shuttles run every 5–15 min, the A Line runs every 15 min.
- Reservations — off-airport lots can be reserved online in advance; the Economy lot is walk-in only.
- Coverage — both are open-air (Canopy and ParkDIA offer covered upgrades; the Economy lot does not).
The DIA Economy lot makes sense if you arrive without a reservation and all off-airport lots are sold out — which only happens at peak holidays.
Tips for parking in the DIA Economy lot
- Take a photo of your parking section and row number — the lot is large and sections look similar.
- Allow 20–25 minutes total to park, walk to the station, and ride the A Line to the terminal.
- The Economy lot does not accept reservations — arrive early during holidays.
- Consider covered off-airport options in summer — the Economy lot is open-air with no hail protection.
