  3. Park and walk to the station — The 61st & Peña A Line station is adjacent to the lot. It's a short walk from most parking areas.

Peña Station (61st & Peña Station) Park-and-Ride

The 61st & Peña Stationis the penultimate stop on RTD's A Line before Denver International Airport. The station offers park-and-ride access for DIA travelers, particularly those who live on the east side of Denver or along the I-70 corridor. From Peña Station, the A Line runs to the DIA terminal in approximately 5 minutes.

61st & Peña vs Off-Airport Lots

The DIA 61st & Peña lot costs $8/day — accessible via RTD A-Line only, with no car shuttle to the terminal. Compare with the cheapest off-airport lots on Tower Road. The key differences:

  • No reservation required — The Economy Lot is walk-in only. This is useful if you forgot to pre-book, but risky during holidays when the lot can fill up.
  • RTD A-Line rail only — no car shuttle — The 61st & Peña lot uses RTD A-Line commuter rail to reach the terminal. There is no car shuttle. Off-airport lots use free shuttles. The A-Line requires walking to the platform and waiting for the train, but runs on a fixed schedule.
  • No covered option — Unlike Canopy ($18/day covered) or ParkDIA ($22/day covered), the 61st & Peña lot is outdoor uncovered only. During hail season, this is a consideration.
  • DIA-owned facility — The 61st & Peña lot is operated by Denver International Airport directly.

At $8/day the 61st & Peña lot is the cheapest on-airport option, but it requires RTD A-Line access only — there is no car shuttle. Off-airport lotsat $9–$11/day offer free car shuttle service with advance reservations for most travelers.
